Music - In construction

Miles Davis was asked by Louis Malle to write the music for his film “Ascenseur pour l’échafaud” or “Lift to The Scaffold”, starring Jeanne Moreau.

The scenes from the film were projected while Miles Davis and his quintet improvised to picture. The score was recorded in Paris in one night, December 4 1957. A unique, passionate film score resulted from this collaboration.

Barney Wilen played tenor saxophone, René Utreger the piano, Pierre Michelot bass and Kenny Clarke drums.
